In addition to setting up the details of the promo code in Escapia, it is also necessary to select the "network partners" which these codes apply to. The network partner might be named Scurto Marketing or the name of your company/website (see screenshot below).
In some cases, Escapia support must be contacted to enable promo codes for a particular account.
