How to handle website change requests

February 07, 2024

Industry best practices and what potential guests are accustomed to are constantly changing. Perhaps software changes or a shift in your website’s goals require changes to be made to your website's front-end interface. There are two routes we offer to help facilitate your needs:

Option A
DIY approach

Is the change rather minor?

It can probably be submitted as a support ticket with the details of the request provided. These types of change requests generally do not require consultation or designer involvement. Just create a ticket and include as much information as possible so that our developers can implement. Any time spent will be billed hourly as part of our standard feature request support process.

Do you have the capability to provide us with detailed layouts of what is desired?

The process would be the same, and the best path forward is by creating a support ticket, including layouts and a detailed description of the change request.

Caution:

Your website design is responsive and dynamically adjusts its layout based on device type, screen size, etc. It also has a slew of complex integrations, asset optimizations (for load times) and more. Often times, these considerations are forgotten which leads to more development time and sometimes frustrations.

Option B
Assisted approach

We can provide consultation to ensure the changes you would like to make to your website not only look good, but are functional and will help achieve the goal you have in mind. Through a discovery process, we will gather your requirements and then present a possible solution. Once approved these are scheduled into our support portal as a feature request.

Pro Tips

Do you plan on regularly updating your website experience to continually improve user experience? Purchase a monthly support block of time at a discount, which includes free consultation. That way, we will always have time for ongoing feature requests set aside for you.

November through March are our busiest development times. Get your requests in during summer to be sure we can achieve your goals before the next booking season.
